American made and proud of it, the Manix 2 Lightweight features an FFG (full flat grind) blade crafted from CTS BD1N stainless steel. This advanced particle metallurgy steel is enriched with a high vanadium content to promote the formation of hard vanadium carbides instead of chromium carbides. Explained more plainly, this enhances the steel’s wear resistance and edge retention, while also providing superior corrosion resistance.
Blade deployment is super fast thanks to Spyderco’s signature Trademark Round Hole™ for easy, ambidextrous, one-handed opening. Cloaked in its durable DLC coating, the blade is supported by a high-strength Ball Bearing Lock™ housed within a precision-machined steel insert in the handle. The durable FRCP (fiberglass reinforced co-polymer) handle includes a molded Bi-Directional Texture™ pattern to ensure a secure grip in even the most demanding environments. A reversible wire clip provides left or right side tip-up carry and makes the operation and carry completely ambidextrous.
