Buck Knives 0112BKS1 112 Slim Select Ranger - Clip Point 420HC Blade - Black Nylon Handle
Buck’s Folding Hunter was created in 1963 when Al Buck decided that a revolutionary folding lockblade knife was needed by outdoorsmen who wanted a sturdy knife but did not want to carry a long fixed-blade knife. He was right and the result proved to be the key to the company’s future.
As a follow-up to the famous 110, Buck Knives realized that sometimes smaller is better, hence the model 112 Ranger. This special edition Ranger features a 420HC blade steel and black Nylon handle. The clip point blade is finished with Buck’s advanced Edge2x blade technology for unbelievable sharpness and edge retention out of the box. Made in the USA.

More about 420HC steel:
This is Buck's standard blade material because it approaches the wear resistance of high carbon alloys while delivering the corrosion resistance of chromium stainless steels. Using their exclusive heat-treat process and you have a very user-friendly combination of superior corrosion resistance with excellent strength for wear resistance and durability. You also have a blade that is easy to resharpen. For best performance Buck hardens their 420HC blades to a Rockwell hardness of Rc 58.
