Spyderco C85GPCBL2 Yojimbo 2 - Michael Janich Design - CPM-SPY27 Blade - Cobalt Blue G-10 Handle
Designed by renowned personal-defense authority Michael Janich, the Yojimbo™ 2 was instrumental in popularizing the concept of the “tactical Wharncliffe.” This elite expression of it supercharges the design with Spyderco’s proprietary CPM-SPY27 blade steel. Available only on select Spyderco knives, this elite steel boasts an advanced alloy formula that includes vanadium, molybdenum, niobium, and nitrogen. These alloys are enhanced by the amplifying effects of the steel’s signature element—cobalt—and the state-of-the-art Crucible Particle Metallurgy process to create a blade steel that offers an impressive synergy of edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance. These qualities provide outstanding support to the ultra-keen edge geometry of the Yojimbo 2’s hollow-ground Wharncliffe blade, which is housed in a handle featuring skeletonized stainless steel liners nested within peel-ply-textured G-10 scales. The liners form the backbone of the knife’s high-strength Compression Lock® mechanism and anchor its four-position pocket clip, which is fully configurable for left or right-side, tip-up or tip-down carry. Like most other members of Spyderco’s elite CPM SPY27 family of knives, the handle scales of this Yojimbo 2 proudly feature a signature cobalt blue color.
