Spyderco C136GP Persistence - 8Cr13MoV Blade - Black G-10 Handle

If you're going to have virtues, Tenacious, Persistence, Resilience, and Ambitious are four that we'd recommend. Not only are these virtues to aspire to, but they're also what Spyderco has named their series of value folder knives.

These knives are rock-solid work knives, and offer great features at a price most anyone can afford. The five-star features include: G-10 handles, Walker LinerLocks, jimping, lined lanyard holes and skeletonized full-length internal liners.

Feature-for-feature, dollar-for-dollar, performance-for performance, Spyderco Value Folders represent a best buy in the knife industry and the answer to acquiring Spyderco innovation and quality on a budget.

The Persistence is a medium-sized workhorse offering big performance in an easy to carry package.

    Steel not an issue

Carrying a Persistence alongside a Tenacious. Compared to super steels, 8CR13MOV only takes a sharpening steel to touch it up. A few passes and you're making paper thin fuzz again. Pockets great when switching to urban mode.

Exceptional purchase at a budget price.

This is my 3rd favorite EDC choice. First being the Spyderco Dragonfly 2 salt, second being the Spyderco Delica 4 in Blue. The Persistence weighs a bit more than the previous two, but that's the only hit I would give it. It actually doesn't weight a whole lot. I just got spoiled by the lighter weight of the other two. Now, to the things I love about this knife. The blade shape is perfect for a lot of tasks, like cutting down cardboard boxes. The G-10 handles are really nice to. It gives you a secure grip for your cutting tasks. I've used this knife for pruning small branches on shrubs, and some gardening. I even used it as a spade to plant flowers, which comes to another feature that I love about this knife, which is the flow through design. After using it for digging dirt, I simply washed it out in the sink and all the dirt came right out. Of course you have to make sure to dry it good because this steel will rust. It's just the perfect size for an all around EDC. The 2.75 inch blade also makes it legal for me to carry where I live. I also wanted to mention that the knife came with perfect blade centering. If you're worried about it being made in China, don't be. The quality of this knife if excellent. The clip is very strong, but not so strong that you can't get it on and off. The G-10 is also not too ruff on my pants. It doesn't seem to tear them up like my Cold Steel American Lawman does. You really can't go wrong with this knife. I would buy two of them. One to keep in your pocket and one in your tool box or bug out bag. At this price, you could afford to buy a few of them.

    Spyderco Persistence

I've had this knife for about two months, and I am very pleased with it. The 8cr13mov steel is fine and holds an edge pretty well. I only touched up the blade to make it sharper to my requirements. The G-10 scales are quite well designed and give it the right amount of heft. The blade length is just right for an EDC blade.

I've been carrying this knife as my EDC blade for many months now and cannot count the times it has come through for me. The G10 handle scales marry the knife to your hand with a comfortable-toughness that has to be experienced. The jimping on the top of the blade is aggressive without damaging your thumb and the liner lock is solid with no play or wiggle left-right. I would recommend this knife to anybody looking to have a solid, affordable EDC blade that has to stay under the 3 inch blade length legal requirement (thanks, Michigan).
An outstanding blade at an outstanding price. Thank you, Spyderco! (and Cutleryshoppe)

    An Ideal EDC

First thing I said when I opened the box was "Wow!" For the price, you get a razor sharp edge, tight lock up, easy deployment, hand(and pocket) friendly handle material, and of course, a cool looking knife. For how much I payed here at CS(which was practically nothing, thanks Jeff) you get a knife that should be worth way more, just sayin'.

    Great EDC

I absolutly love my Spyderco blades but this one is quickly becoming my favorite. Just a hair smaller than the Tenacious and I am more than ok with that. Great blade with an even better price. Thank you Cutlery Shoppe!!!
