Named after a legendary American bucking bull, the Bodacious is a heavy-duty folding knife designed for unfailing reliability. The brainchild of Spyderco co-founder and Blade Magazine Hall of Fame member Sal Glesser, its stout construction and classic lines also provide the perfect platform for Spyderco’s remarkably popular “Cru-Carta” theme. This elite expression of the Bodacious showcases a full-flat-ground, satin-finished blade crafted from CPM-CruWear. A product of the Crucible Particle Metallurgy (CPM) manufacturing process, this high-performance tool steel offers an exceptionally fine microstructure and uniform alloy distribution. In knife blades, these qualities translate to extreme toughness and exceptional edge retention. The blade is housed in a handle featuring smooth brown canvas Micarta scales supported by full stainless steel liners. Joined by a stainless steel backspacer, the liners form the foundation of the knife’s high-strength Compression Lock mechanism and anchor its broad-based pocket clip, which is reversible for left - or right-side tip-up carry. Purposely designed to patina with age and use, the “Cru-Carta” Bodacious is a perfect blend of modern high performance and traditional “old-school” style.
