    BENCHMADE 4170BK AUTO FACT

Posted by SP on May 5th 2022

The Auto Fact was an excellent surprise. It's my first S90V blade, and its totally living up to its reputation as a steel that holds its edge. I was surprised it fires open so well with pressure on either side of the locking mechanism rather than requiring you to pull from both sides(that works well too). I also wasn't sold on the idea of the sliding lock on the back to keep the knife closed or open. The fact that you can use it to lock open a knife that already locks in the open position seemed redundant, but the back lock has quickly become one of my favorite features.
