Victorinox Swiss Army 0.8201.26-X2 Pioneer 93mm - Silver ALOX Handle (old sku 53960)

If the features of the Swiss Army Pioneer model look familiar to you, there is good reason, as it's basically the "civilian" version of the tried-and-true Soldier model first introduced in 1961. For the civilian market Victorinox added a couple of features the Soldier model did not have, specifically the key ring, and the flat area on the backside of the handle to accommodate those who wish to add engraving. The Pioneer ALOX fits into that "big enough to do the job" category, while still being easy to carry everyday.

    Killer classic

This one has really grown on me. Feels sturdier than most cellidor models, and packs a lot in a thin and relatively light package. Take off the key ring, and it's perfect.

    Venomous choice for an EDC.

I usually carry the CutleryShoppe special orange Farmer Victorinox when I choose an alox SAK for the day. I thought I'd give the Pioneer a try because it's the same thing as the Farmer that I'm used to, just minus the saw. The thinner profile seemed very appealing and I never use the saw on my Farmer unless I'm in the woods. After using it for a week, I can tell the difference in thickness when it's in my pocket. I think I'm gonna carry the pioneer from now on and save the Farmer for when I', in the woods, or when I miss the beautiful orange color of the farmer. Of course, buying from Jeff was a pleasure as usual. I got a shipped confirmation within 20 minutes, and the knife was in my mail box literally within 48 hours of ordering it. Outstanding!

    Great product and shopping experience!

I had the Victorinox Cadet already and the Pioneer looked interesting. Slightly larger in dimension compared to the Cadet. Longer overall length, longer knife and tool set. Another difference is that instead of the nail file on the Cadet; this has an awl. Typical Victorinox perfection in fit and finish. This will definately be in my EDC rotation! Also, as a TNPer, I would recommend you order from here! Jeff is a stand-up guy! He even put a lollipop with my order! If that doesn't say great service, I don't know what does!
