The aluminum ALOX handles make the Classic SD thinner while deleting the storage for tweezers and toothpick. I bought both versions of the Classic and gave the ALOX to my mother. She originally received the red handled one as a gift, but the tweezers worked themselves loose and were lost in her purse. Once she rediscovered her tweezers I traded her the original for the ALOX. The tweezers haven't worked their way loose on my keychain yet; now I'm looking for an opportunity to trade again and get my Classic SD ALOX back.
