Designed by noted personal-defense trainer Michael Janich, the Yojimbo 2 is an evolved expression of his original Spyderco Yojimbo design, which pioneered the application of the Wharncliffe blade in tactical folders. The refined ergonomics of the Yojimbo 2 complement the natural contours of the hand, ensuring maximum surface contact and positive control. They also encourage a thumb-forward grip, which makes the blade a natural extension of the hand.
This elite Sprint Run expression of the Yojimbo 2 proudly showcases a blade crafted from CPM-15V, an extraordinary material that offers the highest wear resistance of any cold-work tool steel available today. Containing almost 15 percent vanadium, its unique alloy composition creates an exceptionally high volume of vanadium carbides in its microstructure. In knife blades, this translates to breathtaking cutting performance and edge retention. Spyderco’s limited-edition family of CPM-15V knives are further enhanced by a specialized heat-treating protocol developed by acclaimed custom knifemaker Shawn Houston. This Sprint Run expression of the Yojimbo 2 faithfully includes all the proven elements of this design, including a high-strength Compression Lock mechanism and a four-position pocket clip. To clearly distinguish it as a member of the CPM-15V family, it also features brown peel-ply textured G-10 handle scales and Shawn Houston’s “Triple B” logo laser engraved on the reverse side of the hollow-ground blade.
