Spyderco C28PCBL2 Dragonfly 2 - CPM-SPY27 Blade - Cobalt Blue FRN Handle
Spyderco's latest version of the ever popular Dragonfly 2 is now available with their exclusive CPM-SPY27 blade steel. The Dragonfly was originally released in 1994, and ever since has been one of their best selling models, due in no small part to their ease of carry thanks to their lightweight FRN (fiberglass-reinforced-nylon) handles.
Though the Dragonfly has been a mainstay of the Spyderco product line for decades it still sets the standard when it comes to packing serious cutting performance into a compact package. This unique expression of it showcases a blade crafted from CPM-SPY27, a state-of-the-art powder metallurgy steel that supercharges the cobalt-enriched chemistry of VG-10 stainless steel with niobium, nitrogen, and increased volumes of carbon, molybdenum, and vanadium. Developed in close cooperation with Crucible Industries and exclusive to Spyderco, it offers an exceptional balance of edge retention, toughness, corrosion resistance, and ease of sharpening. The satin-finished, full-flat-ground PlainEdge blade of this Dragonfly 2 takes full advantage of these properties and is paired with a lightweight fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handle injection molded in a distinctive cobalt blue - one of the signature handle colors of Spyderco’s elite SPY27 family of knives. The handle also houses the knife’s sturdy back lock mechanism and a reversible deep-pocket wire pocket clip that provides a choice of left or right-side tip-up carry.
