Spyderco C138P GrassHopper

Sometimes smaller is better, and Spyderco’s micro-sized slipjoints are fully functional, impressively sharp folding knives that are very much at home on a keychain, in a pocket or worn as a neck knife. Their stainless steel handles are the perfect palette for engraving or other embellishment and their Trademark Round Holes are much more user friendly than traditional nail nicks.

The GrassHopper's size is closest to that of a true penknife with its blade just over two-inches. Its PlainEdge Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel blade stays open when you're cutting, held by resistant pressure at the knife's pivot area. GrassHopper handles are chamfered with no squared-off edges to dig or bite into a gripping hand. The handle is also stainless steel with a laser engraved Spyderco bug and enough blank area for a small amount of engraving or customization as jewelry or a gift item. Handle lanyard-hole welcomes a chain for wear around a neck or a keychain.

    Great little knife!

Got this sweet little blade for my wife. When i unboxed i i spected it closely, amd was unsurpised to find it meets my normal very high expectations for Spyderco products. Blade centered. Very smooth with a nice detent in both closed and opened positions. For a modest slip joint pocket knife of superior quality, fit, and finish, look no further. My wife likes it even more than i do and has been using it every chance she gets!

    Good size for daily carry

Posted by MWD on Jun 25th 2010

I have the "bug", "honey bee" and the "grass hopper". They are all solid knives, but the grass hopper is a better, more usable size for daily carry.

FYI...It's a little too small for one hand opening (at least for me).
