Japanese AUS-10A steel could be referred to as the “big brother” of AUS 8A; the latter of which Cold Steel has been using in their products for over three decades. AUS-10A is a high-performance stainless alloy steel boasting all the properties of AUS-8A and then some! It’s an excellent steel for working knives - tough, corrosion-resistant, easy to re-sharpen, and is known for better edge retention than AUS-8A, due to its higher carbon content.

    Great defensive knife

    These Voyager's are the best value in a large bulletproof folder as you can get. This is my 3rd Voyager knife, and I really wanted to add this one to my stable of defensive blades - if it is Lynn Thompson's favorite it has to be good! I opted for the serrated version because it is better at cutting through all sorts of manmade material. The pocket clip slides easily onto my jeans, which was a pleasant surprise as most of these Voyagers need some clip tweaking or scale sanding to loosen them up. The Cutlery Shoppe was amazing as usual with excellent communication, extremely fast shipping, and for providing a fun swag bag along with the knife. Customer for life!

    Great Knife!

    When I was looking at it online, it looked a bit too big to be useful. But holding it in my hand, and clipping it in my pocket, changed my mind! It is a big knife, but it’s not too big to be carried in a pocket and used properly in the right situation!
    Dealing with the Cutlery Shoppe was great! No hassles, and no delays! My knife shipped quick and they kept me up to date every step of the way! I’ll definitely be buying from the Cutlery Shoppe again!
