Böker Solingen 112944 Coffin Denim Micarta Slipjoint Folder - 3.15" MagnaCut Blade - Blue Denim Micarta Handle

Stylish elegance and nonchalant reliability as an expression of lively passion: The Boker Coffin Denim Micarta by Chuck Gedraitis is more than just a knife, vibrant, a mélange of tradition and proven innovation - for increased heartbeat among true knife fans. Characteristic is the coffin-shaped design of the jeans-blue Micarta handle scales, which, in addition to a balanced feel, ensure a nonchalant, casual look. With the drop-point blade made of powder-metallurgical MagnaCut (62-63 HRC) and a decorative ricasso, the final coffin nail for demanding everyday cutting tasks is also clearly defined. From peeling an apple to cutting strong ropes - the slip-joint pocket-knife with a 90 degree stop moves in the EDC world in a decidedly light-footed manner, with a trendy, casual silhouette. The straight nail nick for the classic opening of the folding knife makes the modern tangible in the detail. The convertible stainless-steel clip (tip-up/r) contributes to the discretion as a self-evident virtue, which allows for deep carrying and makes the knife disappear almost completely in one's trouser pocket. The Boker Coffin Denim Micarta is supplied with a high-quality felt case. Handmade in the Boker Manufactory in Solingen.

    Modern Knife, Classic-Style Simplicity

Posted by Chris W on Feb 14th 2025

This knife is beautiful from the denim blue coffin-shaped handle, to the shiny and tough Magnacut blade! The edge came pretty sharp, and as I expected from Magnacut it was not easy to get it any sharper, but I know the edge will hold well. The knife has good balance and it is extremely light, way lighter than I thought it would be. Combined with its super slim profile it can be easy to forget you even have this knife on you sometimes! The handle almost literally camouflages with denim. The construction is seamless and the blade’s grind and bevel were basically perfect. My only knock is that it’s tough to open and a bit dangerous if not careful, even for a classic slip joint. It definitely takes two hands, and it opens in two stages. This does add burden to fully opening the knife, but prevents the blade from one-shot closing on your hand. With how hard it locks between stages, I trust it not to close on my hand easily. That said, this knife isn’t a great choice for tactical self defense, but it’s definitely awesome for camping, and is a classy and discreet choice for an EDC. Overall a wonderful knife and a good deal for a Magnacut blade! Also came with an awesome little carry case that can fit a couple other knives, too! This is also my first Boker and I’m definitely a fan, now!

    My First MagnaCut

Posted by Chris W on Feb 11th 2025

This is my first CPM MagnaCut blade, and so far I’m a fan! I haven’t put it through major abuse yet, but so far it hasn’t worn at all, like it’s still brand new! Its factory edge was impressively sharp, and has remained razor-sharp through moderate use. My only gripe is that it’s tough to pull open, and you have little surface area to pull it. It at least opens and closes in two stages very rigidly, preventing full-accidental closing of the knife. You must be careful with the blade, but otherwise the knife is very light, and the scales match jeans wonderfully, and this knife is very attractive overall! Definitely worth the wonderful deal that CSI offers with this knife! Good luck finding a better one on the same blade anywhere else!

Boker Coffin Slipjoint is the EDC you didn't know you wanted

Bigger than I thought it was going to be. superior fit and finish. Unique spearpoint blade shape but wonderfully sliced. Nice heavy pull. Very comfortable in the hand, even with small hands like mine although I know many with big hands that really love it. Cutlery Shoppe has lots of hard to find knives and great prices. A wonderful place to buy from and I can't recommend them enough.
