Benchmade 535 Bugout - 3.24" Plain Edge CPM-S30V Drop Point Blade - Blue Grivory Handle

I bought this as a gift for a lady.
She was pleased with the color & the knife was extremely sharp.

Overall I rate this knife as good and gave it 4 stars. It is very light and has zero blade play. Ergonomics are good for my hand. Blade centering could not have been any better. It came sharp, but naturally I had to make it even sharper. The only problem I've really had is the axis lock sticking a little. I put some CLP on it and that helped smooth it out. I'm sure it will get even better with time.

I'm really a Spyderco guy and this is my first Benchmade. I've been thinking about a 940-1, but won't buy one until I see how well this axis lock smooths out.

I will say Jeff at the Cutlery Shoppe went the extra mile to help me with this purchase, and I will no doubt be buying more of my knives from Cutlery Shoppe.

It's a great knife. I was a little weary of the polimer handle and I wasn't thrilled to hear it was in S30v either(just sick of it) but this thing is just an excellent design. Anybody can design an overbuilt tank of a knife that will perform and those can be great but, Benchmade really nailed this one with minimal material which is more impressive to me. It's a featherweight knife that's still solid and had great blade geometry too. The only reason I knocked off a star is for the price when you consider the materials but, I still recommend grabbing one of these even at that price.

Light handy EDC with excellent blade steel. I love the fact that i can wear just about any kind of light clothing and I still don't realize i have it on me.

Was looking into this knife with all my heart - I'm cyclist, so I thought this beautiful lightweight medium sized knife will become my new best friend, you know. What a shame. The knife is VERY stiff out of the box, to flip it open you have to make some sort of power flick with you wrist, but that forceful opening makes the lock stick! The lock is titanium on this model, maybe that's the reason. If you open it gently (through its very stiff action), then the lock bar doesn't stick. But thats not all! The blade weird as well - on one side the bevel is 0.9mm thick, on the other - 1.6mm!!! it looks ugly and makes me wonder what sharpening angle is... and it also has some weird lookong lines along the grind, like some of grind lines more pronounced, but it makes them look like scratches. Wish I could include some pictures. Dissapointed.

At Jeff's suggestion I added a Benchmade 535 to my EDC collection. Great knife that you do forget is there. As far as an edge goes the first two people who asked look at it gave themselves a cut.... Benchmade sharp!
