Spyderco C91PBBK Pacific Salt - H-1 Blade - Black Lightweight FRN Handle

Spyderco's C91 Pacific Salt is designed to offer reliable high performance with a never-rust H-1 steel blade. Now it's available with a black coated blade, lessening the steel's reflective qualities and subduing the blade's presence. Spyderco's Salt Series shines in fresh and saltwater staying rust-free even if put away wet. Hollow-ground, the H-1 blade is PlainEdged and coated in long-lasting black carbonitride. It's similar in shape and size to Spyderco's bestselling Endura model but with more rounded tip.

All internal steel parts are treated as well making them impervious to rust and pitting. The blade's hole is enlarged to 14mm for easier opening/closing with gloved, wet or cold hands. Textured in a Volcano Grip pattern, the black fiberglass handle has a grippy texture and is fitted with a black Titanium pocket clip that reverses position for both left and right-handers. The addition of a lanyard hole offers a backup method of attachment (thong or lanyard cord) for use around water where once dropped, a knife is often lost or elusively hard to retrieve.

    impressed

I LOVE THIS KNIFE!!!!!!! There is not anything bad I can say about this knife, its sharp outta the box, holds a great edge, easy to open with wet or gloved hands and carries great. When they say it will not rust they mean it, I live on the Texas coast and fish all the time in the saltwater of the lower laguna madre. Im pretty hard on my EDC knives and have dunked this thing plenty and never rinsed it off and sure enough not a rust spot anywhere, ever. This is my second H1 pacific salt and I have a hard time even thinking about carrying anything else. About the only gripe that I have is I wish they would make one with more of a pointed blade and full flat grind like some of the other spyderco's but its not a deal breaker. My First Pacific Salt was the yellow one that I wore every day for the better part of 3 1/2 years, worth every penny. Cutlery shoppe's service is second to none too with extremely fast shipping.

    My new EDC

Posted by Brad on Jul 4th 2011

I bought this knife after vacationing in Hawaii, because I had to leave my EDC in a beach bag when I went snorkling. Although that was a stainless knife, I was worried it would become harder to maintain after tasting salt water. I wanted a knife that I could zip into a pocket and take with me into the ocean. The Pacific Salt blade from Seki City, Japan came razor perfect, perfectly centered, and locked up solid. It has held an edge for a long time with some abuse, including small chopping tasks while camping. It is now my new EDC, and I have been so impressed by this knife and Jeff's customer service that I bought 2 more for friends. As long as the price point is right, I have a feeling that more H-1 steel knives are in my future. Great job Spyderco and Cutlery Shoppe.

This is my 1st blade with Spyderco and I am not disappointed. It's my EDC and I have mostly use it in an office and kitchen environment and it is sharp, tough and low profile. I had only 1 small issue and I found it slightly large for my average asian hands and it took me some time to be adept in quick opening this folder.
