Spyderco Native 5 - CPM-S90V Blade - Orange FRN Handle
At about a year and a half from first request to knives produced, the new orange lightweight Manix 2 from Spyderco has proven to be worth the wait. Our longtime customers and collectors know we have a "thing" for orange, which is an addiction our customers seem to share. This Cutlery Shoppe Exclusive is a full size knife that seems to defy the laws of physics, weighing in at under three ounces.
The Manix 2 Lightweight features an FFG (full flat grind) blade crafted from premium CPM S90V stainless steel. This advanced particle metallurgy steel is enriched with a high vanadium content to promote the formation of hard vanadium carbides instead of chromium carbides. Explained more plainly, this enhances the steel’s wear resistance and edge retention, while also providing superior corrosion resistance.
Blade deployment is super fast thanks to Spyderco’s signature Trademark Round Hole™ for easy, ambidextrous, one-handed opening. The blade is supported by a high-strength Ball Bearing Lock™ housed within a precision-machined steel insert in the handle. The durable FRCP (fiberglass reinforced co-polymer) handle (orange color of course!) includes a molded Bi-Directional Texture™ pattern to ensure a secure grip in even the most demanding environments. A reversible wire clip provides left or right side tip-up carry and makes the operation and carry completely ambidextrous.
