What’s not to like? CTS-XHP is a great steel, and the Native Chief is a good blade to showcase it—full flat grind, over four inches long. This will certainly be among the most capable slicers in any knife collection.

What a bargain, xhp steel for $30 less than the standard model. Fit and finish is impeccable, the back spacer, lock bar, and g10 scales are seamless. Shipping was fast, I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

Awesome exclusive from CS. Knife arrived very quickly and was packaged perfectly! It was razor sharp out of the box and the design is perfectly executed. The orange scales really go well with the satin blade. I held off buying the knife for awhile but I’m glad I finally gave in.

This is my first Native Chief and it looked at it for a long time. So glad I pulled the trigger. Razor sharp, blade centered, not a flaw to be found. I wish I had got the black and orange as well.

I can't believe this knife is still available. If you are looking for a pocket friendly large blade stop looking and buy it. I saw so many reviews saying the blade on the Chief was so thin and there for seems fragile. Nonsense! Is it a thin blade, yes, but if you use it for what you should this blade will be fine 99% of the time. Here's the deal, unless it is a splinter in your finger, don't freaking pry with the tip (if you want to pry get a Cold Steel SR1). Use the stinking knife to cut, poke, stab, slash into items a knife should be used to do that to and you will be fine. CTS-XHP is more stain resistant D2 and can take a wicked edge (and keep it) like D2 done right. This came shaving sharp right out of the box. It is a better steel than S30v or even S35vn and when I got mine it was cheaper than the S30v regular version. Ridiculous. Side note is I am a sucker for orange and have a few knives handled in this color so an even bigger plus for me. As I love large blades I am debating buying a second just to put away.

Even with winter gloves on you will get a full hammer grip on the tacky g10 scales. The blade cuts cardboard like butter, and rope with a single pass without serrations due to the length of the blade edge. The blade choil allows you to get really close to the blade for finesse work or some whittling.
Best EDC knife if you need something more than 3" for the tasks at hand.
