Spyderco Cat

In case you've ever wondered why knife companies tend to apply animal-like names and descriptions to their knives, Spyderco says the round hole and super sharp edge of the Cat folder remind them of eyes and claws. We see the resemblance as well and concur.

Take a moment and think of Cats. Cats represent a highly developed level of predatory resourcefulness, sleek sharp claws and efficiency, and this C129GP Cat CLIPIT folder has a leaf-shaped CTS BD1 blade just under two-and-a-half inches in length that is flat-ground for hair popping sharpness.

This cat is unique. Spyderco aimed for a high pinnacle of cutting adeptness but demanded it be polished and sophisticated in appearance.  So, they combined cat-claw sharpness with a G-10 handle and Michael Walker LinerLock®.  The black G-10 handle is shaped and sized ergonomically with full-length skeletonized liners inside for strength without bulky weight.

A deep silhouette wire clip burrows the knife down deeply in a pant's pocket with the tip facing up ready to carry left- or right-handed.

We believe the name is appropriate and think you might too.

    Spyderco delivers again!

Posted by Brian Myers on Jun 15th 2011

Just received this knife in the mail today and cannot think of anything negative to say about it. I have other Spyderco's and have gotten used to their outstanding quality and this one does not disappoint. Carries nice and deep in the pocket and has a great blade shape and size for EDC functions. Nice and light weight, but not small enough that you won't know it's there. When they're back in stock do not hesitate to pick up one of these!
