Spyderco Delica 4 Wharncliffe LWT C11FPWCOR - FFG CPM-S30V Blade - Orange FRN Handle

We like orange - we don't deny that. Apparently our customers feel the same about orange, which is why we keep requesting it from our manufacturers. When we first saw the prototype Wharncliffe Delica 4 not a moment passed before asking Spyderco for an exclusive. To make it even better, we asked the blade to be CPM-S30V as well, and our request was granted.

The defining feature of this knife is its "Wharncliffe" blade profile, which is characterized by a perfectly straight cutting edge and a spine that tapers to meet that edge at an acute point. Capable of cutting with both scalpel-like precision and power far beyond its size, Wharncliffes are the blades of choice for many savvy knife users who demand maximum performance out of their tools.

Available in a PlainEdge™ format, the Delica 4 Wharncliffe features a FFG (full-flat-ground) CPM-S30V stainless steel blade with a fully accessible Trademark Round Hole™ that supports one-hand opening with either hand. It is paired with the time-tested Delica Lightweight handle design, which includes a sturdy back lock mechanism, skeletonized stainless steel liners, and a four-position pocket clip that allows both left and right-side tip-up or tip-down carry.

One of the most potent pocket-sized cutting tools available, the Delica Lightweight Wharncliffe pushes the performance of this popular model to a new level.

    Wharning! - Will Robinson

Love Wharncliffe style blades. Checking out the Delica 4 Wharnies but then noticed and purcahsed Cutlery Shoppe's exclusive Delica 4 Wharnie w/"safety" orange handles and S30V steel. Lightweight for all day carry it cuts easily hay twine and medium diameter sized rope. Opens packages, boxes, slices thru shipping tape and plastic shipping straps. What I love most about it and where this knife really shines is hard to open clam and blister packaging. Such material can be difficult and even risky for getting yourself cut trying to open. With this knife the sharp tip penetrates with little effort. Then slice around your package contents safely. Cutlery Shoppe includes some swag... a ball point company pen and tootsie pop treats both in what else, "safety" orange. Very happy with this purchase.

Ok, I don’t like little knives and I rarely like lockbacks. I have two other Delicas just as collectors pieces but with the blade shape, steel, and handle color, this thing is a home run. I like that it has skeletonized liners in the FRN handles. Helps balance it out. It is great for something that won’t intimidate coworkers and knife shy folks. Also I carry this with a PM2 as a combo carry. I really like it for that. I’m planning on getting another one at the end of the month since I like it so much and the price is right.

Love this knife! the Wharnie is great as a pairing knife, whittler, opener, and protector. Very light and feels natural in the hand. The skeletonized liners keep it strong and the jimping behind the Spydie hole gives you great purchase with the thumb if you want it - like when you're cleaning a fish. This knife is very flickable for me once broken in and looks easy to clean. The only thing I would change is to give it a deep pocket clip. Too bad you cant choose this option when you order. The S30V steel holds a great edge and doesn't break the wallet! This is one stand up knife!

This is the first knife I've owned with a wharncliffe blade and I am very impressed. It is very sharp. I've tried to cut some designs in vinyl sheet and boy the tip is amazing. And being a exclusive Cutlery Shoppe offering is just icing on the cake. And the quality of the knife is just what I've come to expect from Spyderco.

    Delica 4 Orange Wharncliffe

Posted by WK on Dec 10th 2017

The Delica is one of my favorite knives. The quality, size, and usefulness for the price makes it a great EDC. The steel is S30V, which is the standard steel for some of the best knives available. So adding it to the Delica is a big step up from VG10. I have been wanting to try out the wharncliffe since they came out so the steel upgrade was too good to pass up. I love orange and this hue/shade is awesome, I'm a big fan. Another thing I noticed is the pocket clip is matte black instead of the shiny black that is normal. A small but nice touch. All of this on top of the Delica quality for under $100. My second purchase from Cutlery Shoppe and they ship quickly and threw in an orange pen and lollipop. Small things but shows they care enough to add something to the order. I'm a happy customer and will buy from them again. Thanks for a great knife.
