SOG Knives STRAT OPS Automatic SO1001 - S35VN Blade - Black Micarta Handle

SOG's latest just might be their ultimate tactical automatic - the STRAT OPS AUTO features a premium CPM-S35VN blade that's given a black TiNI finish. Another serious upgrade setting the STRAT OPS apart from their other autos is the coffin shaped handle in black micarta. Grooved for the best grip possible, it affords a handle that's strong yet light to carry. The safety locks the blade in both the open and closed positions. A reversible low carry pocket clip sets the knife deep in your pocket for more "discreet" carry. Another subtle feature is the "full belly" blade design that makes it a true "cutter."

Kudos to SOG Knives -- they really got this one right!

    Decent Knife

Posted by Eric on Mar 26th 2019

I own four Spec Elite I and II autos with the aluminum handles which are assembled in the USA. The fit and finish on those are better than this one. The non-presentation side handle scale on this one has a 1/16" gap that tapers down at about 1 inch on the handle liner. It's not that bad, but for a knife touted as superior and MADE IN THE USA, I wasn't impressed. The same handle scale is also greenish instead of black. It looks like a factory second. The blade lockup is great (just like my Spec Elites) with no play in any direction. This one is way easier to get out the pocket with the new clip. The micarta is great, very grippy yet smooth. Overall, another cool knife from SOG. It would be perfect if the handle scale wasn't warped and discolored. Would I buy it again? I doubt it. The others are cheaper.
