Boker Plus 02BO300 Cop Tool

The Boker Cop Tool offers a deployment tool that easily covers the entire range of tasks in duty, service, hobby and leisure. Developed and field tested by Roy Huntington, a police officer with more than twenty years of experience. Now Wilson Tactical and Boker begin an exclusive collaboration to make this perfect tool available for a reasonable price point. The Cop Tool can be used as a lever, chisel, belt cutter, scraping tool, or as a multifunctional knife. Small, compact and extremely effective. The bead blasted blade is made of high performance 440C stainless steel. For the perfect grip, even with gloves or wet hands, Boker uses textured G-10 for the handle, which eliminates any danger of slipping. The Kydex sheath can be carried multiple ways, or fits well on any gear belt next to other mission tools. The Boker Plus Cop Tool comes complete with lanyard as shown, and makes the perfect everyday companion.

    Great tool

I use the cop tool in combination with a Cattleman's Cutlery multi tool. The serrated blade is perfect for cutting rope. CSI also has the best price for this product and fast shipping.

    Boker Cop Tool

Posted by Ken Robinson on Nov 22nd 2020

OK, this will be more of an update on my previous review.

I bought this particular Boker Cop Tool just expecting the typical Boker version of the Cop Tool but got something slightly different that I was not familiar with.

Cutlery Shoppe is simply selling this as a Boker Cop tool when in fact this is an actual Wilson Combat / Boker Cop tool, let me explain for those not aware of what this means.

The original "Cop Tool" was created by Roy Huntington, a former police officer and now well-known in firearms circles. Through some dealings, Wilson Combat decided to jointly work with Boker in getting these out there in the field easier.

This Cop Tool, or at least the one I got from Cutlery Shoppe isn't the stock Boker version but the Wilson Combat version. Granted both version carry the same markings on the sides of the blade BUT there is a big difference!

This version, what I'll refer to as the Wilson Combat, feels a bit heavier in the hand (not a bad thing) as it feels beefier. It also has a rather gray/oiled bronzed color to it as well as having a shinier texture to the 440 in the blade. One other big difference, one which caused me an issue original, the kydex sheath that comes included with this one looks cheaper as opposed to the kydex sheath that boker sells which is a heavier version of kydex sheath, more like a hard formed plastic. personally, I hated this version of kydex sheath BUT there is one other huge difference as well which one should ponder before buying one or the other.

The Boker kydex hard former sheath DOS NOT fit this version of this Cop Tool which could definitely cause issues, as I learned the hard way when this included kydex sheath would not even fit this Cop Tool and neither would the Boker hard formed kydex sheath. I have since then found an alternate carry method.

Also, be aware. this version or the version I received has the G10 scales mounted with screws that sit a bit higher to the surface of the Cop Tool, not really a bad thing just something one should be aware of.

Personally the Boker version (lighter gray color 440 steel, dull matte finish on the blade, lower setting screws on the G10 scales and with a shallower seatbelt cutter and the hard formed kydex sheath (only some versions come with this Boker sheath other just ship with the old leather sheath)) is the easiest to work with as far as the Boker hard formed sheath always fitting though be aware, it does end up marking a black streak along the blade because of the way that sheath holds to the tool and pretty much assures you that it won't ever just fall out of the sheath, even when worn inverted upside down on the duty belt, this also prevents the glass breacher from "stabbing" yourself (some folks have had this issue).

Personally, all that being to the overall advantage of the Boker version, I really like this Wilson Combat version slightly better because of the texture of the 440 blade, the heft of the CT feeling a bit heavier, if only whomever is making the kydex sheath for this version would get their act together and make them better or at least fit the CT correctly.

To be forewarned is to be forearmed.

When everything is said and done, the CT's are equal as far as I've determined. Though I personally prefer the shinier finish of the WC version to the Boker version BUT as far as the CT itself goes, both versions are great and well worth being carried on your person.

As far as the WC version sheath being junk and not fitting, I learned that if you're like me and wear duty style boots and heavy socks, you can simply carry the CT on a modified paracord lanyard and just drop it down the inside of your boot with a custom lanyard tied with a knot fitted under the velcro zipper cover. WARNING: Carry at your own risk in this method!

Enjoy your Carry and be safe out their.

    Boker Cop Tool

Posted by Ken Robinson on Aug 10th 2020

This was my fourth Boker Cop Tool; the three prior tools are allocated to a particular duty. Isay all that to lend credence to what I'm about to write for this review.

This being the fourth tool I've procured, it has apparently gone through a line order upgrade, I guess. I say that because of my three other tools, this one is different in a certain fashion. For anyone that has or has seen the original Wilson Tactical Cop Tool then it looks exactly like one of those except for the paracord wrapped grip. This particularly unusual CT carries the G-10's but it has the same darker oiled bronze finish.

The seatbelt cutter notch on the top of the main blade is much more prominent on this one. I know on that previous models, some folks have stated that seatbelt cutter didn't work well and therefore we just used the main blade as the serrations worked great in cutting seat belts far better and quicker. All and all, the CT itself though moderately different than previous models, seems to be OK and workable BUT ....

Now for the massive negative! What should've been a big plus for any CT owner was this model biggest negative and was fortunately the only negative. Unlike in the previous Boker CT models that came with the rigid ill-fitting leather bulky sheath. Well, this model comes with a new "improved" kydex sheath. This should've been a big plus for the CT owner but it is NOT!

This new kydex sheath is not the original kydex sheath that was a aftermarket purchase. The original kydex sheath was a heavier machine made kydex sheath that was precision made unit that was great fit with excellent retention, even in an inverse carry ( how I carry it on my belt. No, this new kydex sheath looks like and apparent is a rush made, handmade affair that absolutely does not fit by any stretch of the imagination! Whomever made this sheath didn't measure it correctly (measure twice, cut once)! The CT will not fit into this POS sheath and even worse, this version of the CT will not even fit in the original kydex sheath that the other three models work in perfectly.

I can only figure that this version is slightly larger as it feels heavier in the hand as compared with the older models or prior models. I'd be completely thrill had this sheath had fit the CT as it was supposedly designed.

This is a great EDC tool. Very impressed, I have been wanting a tool that I could beat the heck out of instead of using my Spyderco. Cutlery Shoppe had the best price AND it came with a Kydex sheath.
