Böker Solingen 111943 Barlow Integral SlipJoint - N690 Clip Point Blade - Dark Red Micarta Bolsters w/Black Canvas Micarta Handle

The Boker Barlow with its extra long bolsters and the wide blade is a milestone in the model history of the Boker knife company. This integral version of the timeless classic is equipped with a contoured handle body made of dark red canvas Micarta, which is milled from a solid and also forms the characteristic bolsters of the Barlow. The lightweight construction can thus completely dispense with additional metal liners. Thanks to the black canvas Micarta handle scales, which are also contoured, the modern gentleman's knife is extremely comfortable to hold. The matt-blasted SlipJoint blade is made of ice hardened N690 and is opened by nail nick. The handy knife is a perfect companion for your pocket, but also large enough to handle most everyday cutting jobs without any problems. With high-quality felt case for storage. Handmade in the Boker Knife factory in Solingen, Germany.

Quality is as good as any of Boker's made in Germany, which is stellar. The pivot is exceedingly stiff on the particular one though and it easily makes it a 9/10 effort opener. Also be aware that the micarta does not appear the same colors as in the pictures. More dark pink and olive green. If you want it to appear darker I suspect it will require a light layer of oil quite frequently. It is nice just slightly different than expected. Cutlery Shoppe was as good as ever.
