Al Mar Eagle "H.D." Heavy Duty 5HDOT-ZL - Orange G-10 Scales

The new Al Mar Knives Eagle HD is built for the individual that carries the Eagle Ultralight for their "EDC" and wishes they could have a tougher version with the same features as the SERE 2000. Well here it is, the all new Eagle "HD" Heavy Duty. The "HD" weighs in at only one ounce more than the Ultralight™ version, it has skeletonized heat treated 400 series stainless steel liners, Orange G-10 scales, adjustable action, dual thumbstuds and a reversible/removable pocket clip system which attaches through the lanyard hole. Just as the Eagle Ultralight is very easy to carry and disappears in your pocket, so does the Eagle Heavy Duty. AMK took the same great profile and slim design and added strength and features. The Eagle Heavy Duty may quickly become your favorite "EDC".
This brand new G-10 EAGLE HD is a Cutlery Shoppe Exclusive. It features a laminated ZDP-189 Talon blade, orange G-10 scales with a blackened steel pocket clip.

    Stone Cold Perfect!

    Posted by CelticCross74 on Apr 2nd 2015

This is my 6th Al Mar knife and like the other 5 I own this one showed up in stone cold perfect condition right out of the box. This is also my first ZDP-189 knife and is also the sharpest out of the box production knife I have ever purchased. The ZDP-189 laminated blade cuts through anything I throw at it with ease. The ZDP-189 steel is so strong I dont see myself needing to touch up the edge for a very long time. Aside from the fantastic edge the rest of the knife, being an Eagle HD, is perfectly built and finished. The safety orange G10 is quite striking and on my copy perfectly contoured and finished. The only drawback to being safety orange is that it shows dirt, grime and skin oil build up quite clearly. I found the best way to clean it is with those "magic eraser" sponges that you wet then wipe with. That had my bright orange scales looking like new pretty quickly. The Eagle HD is a rare breed of knife. 4 inches of blade in the slimmest package possible yet still plenty strong. Only a couple of other non custom knives on the market are like this and this Al Mar is the only one of those with the top shelf ZDP-189 laminated steel blade.

Cutlery Shoppe has the best prices on Al Mar knives I have ever seen. The price for this knife was a steal and a half. Buy it!

Amazing Knife! One of the best I've had.

I have wanted to get this knife for a few months now. What really attracted it to me is the orange because I do not really see that kind of color on knives. But then I did some research on Al Mar quality. I was also being told that a Spyderco Police or Military are a better option. I bought it anyway because I knew I would regret it when it sells out. Let me tell you that I do not regret it. I am 120% happy; and I'll let you now that the construction on this knife, the quality of design and materials, and shear beauty of this knife is much better than both of those. I am a huge Spyderco fan but I have to give praises where they are due. It is much lighter as well than the Police or Military. The G10 feels much better then the slick handle version of the Police. And the orange color is very vivid. . Such a smooth and precise build. I am now an Al Mar fan, and I can't wait to purchase another of their products.
